I am no stranger to death. I
know too much of fear
of hurt
of pain.
No stranger to passing,
these eyes
will cry
tears
yet again.
I have stood witness
to souls
spirits
and hearts that have given up.
I stood by and watched
life taken
some prolonged
some abrupt.
I am no stranger to death
and loss
is in every place
I go.
Death
screams from mountaintops
swims in ocean tides
rests in green meadows.
