When one bids trust farewell
it rains, torrents slicing through the sunlit
summer sky.
When trust is gone,
clouds drift in the wind and
gather to swallow the burning sun whole.
In despair,
the blackbird crows a hollow,
haunting cry.
The heart implodes,
razor-sharp shards of feeling
ripping through the soul.
When one bids trust farewell,
the entire being shakes with a
rumbling turmoil from within.
Without trust,
shadows are cast over already
gloomy Mondays.
When trust is denied, to live is futile,
for breath is wasted
on love unseen.
Trust denied is trust forever lost,
like a delicate kite string broken,
swirling in the wind
on an overcast Tuesday.
